September 10, 2004--Calendar Updated
The Calender here on the Old Timers Website has been updated with the
schedule of this year's Work Weekends. Please try to attend the work weekends, as there is much that needs to be done at Camp this year during the off-season.
August 8, 2004--Museum A/C Installed
Thanks to the generosity of Laroy Thomas, Inc. and their staff, coupled with the hard work of Old Timers and members of the Akela Wahinapay Lodge of the O.A., the new Air Conditioning/Heating unit was installed in the Museum at Pow Wow! If you see Mr. Thomas or his son Barry, please be sure to thank them for the very generous gift and their assistance installing the unit. Also, please be sure to thank Tom Quinn for the hard work that he put into securing the donation. This new equipment should allow us to better preserve the memories contained in the Museum on a year round basis.
June 28, 2004--Reunion Wrap Up
The 2004 Annual Old Timers Reunion was a great success. Shooting, Swimming, Horseshoes and a great cookout at the Big House were the main events. Check out the Photos Page to see a few shots from the weekend. Don't forget to mark your calendars for the 2005 Reunion, June 10-12, 2005.
June 2, 2004--Storm Damage
The strong storms that moved through the area on June 2, 2004 left a considerable amount of damage in their wake at Camp Pioneer. Many trees were toppled and most of the power lines in Camp are down. Also, a number of tents were damaged as well.
We need as many volunteers as possible, with chainsaws, to come up to Camp for O.A. Spring Arrowee on June 4, 2004 (or sooner if possible). We also need qualified electricians to assist with getting the power grid put back together. Please contact Phillip Jordan or call the Camp Office at (479) 394-1610 if you can help out.
