Current Old Timers Projects
|
Mountain Man Area Improvements
|
| While we are still in the process of determining projects for this
year. Recent projects the Old Timers have completed include build new
benches for the main area, repairing platforms at various campsites, a
thorough cleanup of the area around the museum, putting a roof on the building at
Tiger Ridge, painted the Camp Pioneer entrance sign, and helped prepare the old program office for
a new computer network for
scoutmasters. |
Preparing Camp
|
| As always, the Old Timers are working hard to prepare Camp Pioneer for another great summer of fun in the great outdoors. We hold work weekends at Camp Pioneer at least once a month during the off-season. Please see the Calendar for details about the next work weekend. We can use all the help we can get. We hope to see you there. If you need more information, please contact Phillip Jordan. |
Buy A Brick
|
| The Old Timers are selling engraved commemorative bricks for a walkway to be constructed at the
Museum at Camp Pioneer. Both practical and functional, these engraved bricks provdie a permanent and substantial recognition of someone who has been to Camp Pioneer. The bricks are customizable and can be given in memory or in honor of someone. Lettering can be in two sizes, either 3/4" letters or 5/8" letters. The 3/4" letter bricks will feature up to three lines of text each containing up to 14 letters (including spaces). The 5/8" letter bricks will feature up to four lines of text each containing up to 16 letters (including spaces). See the Buy a Brick page for details. |

Museum Renovations--Status: Complete |
Thanks to the hard work of Gary Spicer and others, the interior of the Museum has been updated. New paneling has been added around the walls, which gives us more room to display items and improves the appearance as well. Of course, work never ceases on updating our collection of Camp Pioneer history.
Also, thanks to the generosity of Laroy Thomas, Inc. of Texarkana, we have a new heating and air-conditioning unit installed in the Museum.
